Wide-ranging review of the visitor experience, especially what the Cathedral offers local and community audiences as well as city visitors, while balancing the needs of worshippers in a working cathedral.
Looked at all visitor-facing aspects, with particular focus on the built heritage and local people’s stories and sense of place. Explored narratives behind the Cathedral’s relation to the City, how it has been a focus for city-wide events and what this means to local people.
Work included exploring how visitors engage with the architecture, collections, temporary exhibitions, archives, events and activities, co-ordinating visitor-focussed activity across the venue as well as uncovering opportunities to increase income, including easy gains and phased approach.
