Lyme Regis Museum

Resilience work to uncover how this local museum could engage more visitors and increase earned income.

Based on existing research, we reviewed the visiting seasons and the Lyme Regis Town offer and identified key audiences. We then worked with staff and volunteers to develop new ways of generating earned income through a better visitor experience and improved visitor offers.

We used an asset-based approach to develop a Business Planning Overview that integrated the motivations and agendas of their visitors with the potential for using all their assets to create offers to increase income.

We suggested ways of expanding earned income streams, how to increase income across a range of activity, integrating hire audiences with visitor events into a mixed economy approach along with the impact of central activity planning.

This work is now the basis of their strategic plan to build up future resilience as well as six short-term projects.
