Colin Mulberg, Director, has specialized in improving the visitor experience in museums, galleries and historic properties and sites for over 20 years.
He trained as a designer, focussing on the interaction between people, products and spaces.
For 12 years he worked at the V&A applying commercial and design techniques to the research and deep understanding of different audiences and to analysing how visitors experience cultural spaces. His work helped shape many of the key projects in the museum sector.
Colin now uses his experience and skills to support a range of clients – from museums, historic buildings and heritage sites to art galleries, print rooms, art fairs and commercial companies.
Colin has detailed experience of project management and is a Registered Designer (REngDes). He has a Postgraduate Diploma (Distinction), Museum Studies, University of Leicester and an MA, Science and Technology Studies, Brunel University. He is also an Associate Member of the Museums Association (AMA)
He is a reviewer for Museums Journal and a regular contributor to Museum Practice. He is also Lead Consultant for the Museums + Heritage Show.
Colin has a broad network of specialist Associates from his extensive experience and contacts over the decades. He calls on their expertise, tailored to each project. Associates include gallery designers, graphic designers, interpretation designers, display manufacturers, engineering and technical specialists, digital/app designers, model makers, artists, craftworkers and other specialists to deliver innovative solutions.
