At Colin Mulberg Consulting, we draw on over 30 years’ experience of working with in the museum, arts and heritage sectors.

Colin Mulberg, Director, trained as a designer, focussing on the interaction between people, products and spaces. He was Major Projects Interpretation Coordinator at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London playing a senior role in developing many award-winning projects.

For the last 14 years he has used his experience and skills to support clients of all sizes throughout the UK and internationally.

Colin is a senior leader in the sector and is a Fellow of the Museums Association (FMA), Professional Reviewer on the AMA programme, and a Mentor on the MA Mentoring for All programme. He highlights good practice as Lead Consultant for the Museums + Heritage Show, London, curating and chairing the ‘Understanding Your Visitors’ stream.

He shares approaches as a regular contributor to museum publications. He wrote the book chapter ‘The complexity of welcome: Visitor experience at the museum threshold’ for Museum Thresholds: The Design and Media of Arrival, Routledge, 2018. He also presents at sector conferences including MuseumNext.

Colin has considerable project experience as a registered UK National Lottery Consultant (NLHF) and has a strong track record of supporting funding bids. He is a Registered Designer (REngDes) and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Designers (FIED).

Colin’s international work includes being a Council Member for international consultants Gerson Lehrman Group and member of Experience UK, the trade body for companies that design, create and deliver world class visitor destinations.
