St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London

A National Lottery project to interpret the listed historic heritage across the whole hospital site.

The historic Great Hall at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London

As part of the preparations to celebrate its 900 year anniversary, St Barts asked us to produce a comprehensive Interpretation Strategy for their Lottery bid.

This must carefully balance the needs of a working hospital with public engagement with built heritage and the Hospital’s Hogarth wall paintings, extensive collections, artwork, archive and museum, as well as income opportunities and digital engagement.

We developed outline themes, storylines and interpretation as well as an outline Interpretation Development Plan for different phases of the project.

Our work played a key part in the successful funding bid.
