This main attraction next to Edinburgh Castle on the Royal Mile asked us to conduct a quick review of the visitor experience and offer, looking to increase visitor numbers and revenue.

We audited the visitor experience on-site and looked at the journey through all rooms, different floors and roof viewing areas from the visitor perspective.

Based on this, we highlighted improvements to layout, displays, interpretation and wayfinding, as well as quick, easy changes to the museum entrance, foyer, queueing and ticketing.

The work set out possibilities for giving audiences a more attractive offer in a phased approach linked to available resources.
