We guided a change of approach for this National Lottery redevelopment project.

Poole Museum

The project centred on restoring a listed hall and updating some of the next-door museum. We worked with the project team and local council to explore the wider potential of these sites plus another listed building nearby to create more of a joint attraction and substantial experience in Poole’s old town.

The project switched to combining these three heritage sites and a range of visitor activity into a cohesive, combined offer as well as maximising its assets and integrating programmes for specific key audiences. We also suggested how to make the most of venue hire, paid visitor activities and catering opportunities.

The Museum is now looking to become a learning organisation, striving to understand and build relationships with its visitors and community partners.

The project received a National Lottery Stage 2 award and a visitor focus has been built into the delivery phase.
